Volunteering
Volunteers are the backbone of our programs. Even an hour of volunteering can change lives. Here are all the ways to support through your congregation, company or organization's outreach, missions or volunteer team:
The Apartment Shelter Program: Sponsoring Apartment Units
-
Make a meal as a group and deliver it to a family.
-
Organize a supply drive for apartment needs.
-
Clean, paint or restock an apartment when a family moves in or out.
-
Contribute financial support based on average rental costs.
Other On-call Support for Families in Need:
-
Mentor family members in the Aftercare Program.
-
Provide translation support (especially Spanish & French).
-
Foster a family's pet while the family is in shelter.
-
Other Needs: Support family classes, volunteer at the Family Promise Day Site or help plan annual events.

Family Promise needs in-kind donations such as personal toiletries, public transportation passes, diapers, books, etc., to provide comfort and relief to our guest families. In addition, we welcome donations of gently used computers for our guests to use at our Day Center for job searches, resume writing, apartment hunting, etc.
