ACTS OF COMPASSION HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF FAMILIES

Discover the wide range of volunteer opportunities at Family Promise – from serving meals, to providing financial literacy training, to assisting with fundraising events. There is something for everyone!

Volunteers play an essential role in helping families experiencing homelessness attain sustainable independence.

Interfaith Hospitality Network

This program runs on the generous time given by over 1,500 volunteers at their congregations. They set-up beds, cook meals, drive vans, stay overnight, wash sheets, plan children's activities, and more. Click here to learn how your congregation could host families in need, or email Mike to see how to join a team to support the existing hosting congregations.

Day Center

The Day Center is where families spend weekends together, and where some adults spend weekdays in case management while looking for work and/or housing. Our staff offices are located in the Day Center. Volunteer needs include phone reception service 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. weekdays, occasional maintenance, or even adopt a room to decorate on a service day! E-mail us  about your interest.

Family Promise-mom and son

“Each time we make room for strangers, we chip away at the fear and isolation and heartbreak in our world. We also get to participate in something that is life giving, both to us and the people we welcome.”
